Toby Maher

Toby Maher, MBBS, MSc, PhD, is a renowned expert in the field of interstitial lung disease. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Clinical Medicine and the Director of Interstitial Lung Disease at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California.  Prior to this, he held prestigious positions, including the British Lung Foundation Chair in Respiratory Research and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinician Scientist.  Prof. Maher has also previously worked as a Professor of Interstitial Lung Disease and headed the Fibrosis Research Group at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College, London.  With a medical degree from Southampton Medical School and an MSc in Respiratory Medicine from Imperial College London, Maher's research interests focus on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, encompassing biomarker discovery, early-phase clinical trials, and the pre-clinical validation of potential treatments for fibrotic lung diseases.  His extensive expertise and leadership have made him a highly respected figure in the field.
