He has developed his professional activity at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, where he is currently the Head of Rheumatology. He has been a tutor and mentor of residents and specialist doctors. He also has experience as Associated Professor in institutional positions at the Universitat de Barcelona. He is the author of numerous publications in indexed and non-indexed journals in the field of autoimmune diseases, with 150 publications (H index 40) and of which more than 70 publications are in systemic lupus erythematosus. As a clinical rheumatologist, he devotes most of his time attending to autoimmune rheumatic diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus and inflammatory arthritis, biologic therapies, immunotherapy and immune-adverse events of checkpoints inhibitors.
